Description
CBAM -Continuous Biometric Authentication Matrix is a revolutionary method of continuously and automatically verifying an
individual's identity and authorization.
The patent covers continuous or periodic adaptive monitoring to verify a person's identity. It also covers systems that integrate a biometric sensor into the man machine command & operation interface such as a fingerprint reader in a computer mouse checking a fingerprint at the time the mouse is clicked or a person's voice being verified at the same time the voice is being employed in a voice command system.
A typical system consists of a controller, set(s) of sensor(s), and a number of programmable
parameters. System operation has three steps: 1) initial user enrollment, 2) user
evaluation, and 3) system output. CBAM White Paper
The particular criteria and circumstances for allowing or denying a person access are set by
the system operator.
Applications
Verifying identity of computer terminal users,
A verified digital signature service
Enables internet or in-room gaming to ensure no unauthorized person or minor can play
Allows only authorized system operators by integrating biometric sensors into system controls
Provides a positive means to verify only authorized people execute critical functions such as:
- operating nuclear power plants
- operating military command and control systems
- piloting aircraft
- operating critical rail & shipping systems
- driving weapons transporters or hazmat trucks
- high value banking or financial transactions
Less stringent criteria can be applied to consumer applications such as:
- home banking
- on-line stock trading
- entry to residence
- operating a car
- operating dangerous power tools
- preventing young children from access to potentially hazardous areas or appliances
Benefits
CBAM invention allows for improvement in performance of existing biometric identification systems using a one time single biometric method such as fingerprints, voice prints or video image systems.
CBAM allows for additional verification steps should a result be indeterminate.
CBAM provides continuous and adaptive monitoring of an individual providing increased confidence the user is still the person who was intitially verified.
Improves precall verification of phone users and credit card users reducing fraud & identity theft.
Improves consumer confidence in on line financial and electronic signature sysems.
